Baltimore Tree Trust brings together diverse leaders, skilled workers, and community members to grow Baltimore’s tree canopy. We believe every neighborhood deserves clean air and cool green spaces. 

Since our founding, Baltimore Tree Trust has emerged as a leading force in this effort—planting trees, providing long-term care, and developing the workforce and partnerships necessary for their success. Our efforts span every part of the city, from neighborhood streets to school grounds, fostering cooler, greener, healthier environments for all Baltimore residents.

What started as grassroots planting in East Baltimore has evolved into the city’s leading tree organization. Today, we have 20 neighborhood foresters and plant over 3,000 trees annually across Baltimore’s neighborhoods.

Since 2008, we’ve planted over 21,000 trees in 193 neighborhoods throughout the city. Our trees provide millions of square feet of shade, reduce stormwater runoff, remove carbon from the air, and lower electricity costs.
