What We Do

Increasing Baltimore's Urban Tree Canopy

As a grassroots initiative that has grown into a citywide solution, the Baltimore Tree Trust addresses tree inequality and the effects of climate change throughout Baltimore City. Our efforts are evident across the city’s 250 vibrant neighborhoods where we are working to connect the tree canopy across all communities. Through our community-focused urban forestry practices, we are increasing Baltimore’s urban tree canopy, creating career pathways for future urban foresters, and nurturing the next generation of tree stewards.

Explore Our Programs

Our programs work together to strengthen Baltimore’s urban forest—training future foresters, transforming bare streets into shaded corridors, and providing communities with the tools and knowledge to help trees thrive for generations. We’re building climate resilience and equity through large-scale tree planting, workforce development, community partnerships, and environmental education.
