This tree was planted by Baltimore Tree Trust to help grow a healthier, greener Baltimore.
We’re excited to add trees to your neighborhood! Your tree supports Baltimore’s urban forest, prioritizing areas with less canopy. Trees make communities healthier, cooler, and more resilient.
With your help, this tree can thrive for years. Explore the resources below to learn about its benefits, how to care for it, and how to help grow Baltimore’s urban forest.
How to Care for a Newly Planted Tree
Regular care helps your tree establish roots and thrive for years.
- Water regularly: Young trees need consistent watering, especially in hot, dry weather.
- Clear the base: Remove grass and weeds to reduce competition for water and nutrients.
- Mulch properly: Keep a mulch ring around the tree, away from the trunk and bark.
- Protect the tree: Avoid damaging the trunk with lawn equipment or compacting soil around its roots.
- Be patient: Ongoing care helps trees develop strong roots and mature healthily.
