Soil testing workshop, for whether you're planting a tree, growing vegetables, or caring for your garden.
Healthy soil is the foundation of thriving gardens. Join Baltimore Tree Trust’s Tree Care Manager, Tyler Lewis, and Chesapeake Conservation and Climate Corps Member Sarah Settels for a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn how to evaluate your soil’s health, understand pH and nutrient levels, and interpret soil test results. They will demonstrate how to use hands-on methods and a soil testing kit, explain what your results mean, and share practical ways to improve soil conditions for healthier trees, landscapes, and gardens.
Participants are encouraged to bring a small soil sample from their yard or garden (instructions will be provided in advance), so they can follow along and better understand their own soil conditions.
Whether you’re planting a tree, growing vegetables, or caring for your garden, this workshop will provide practical skills you can use at home.
This workshop is free to attend, but a donation to BTT is encouraged. Soil testing kits will be available to purchase.
