24 Hours of Reality: Let’s face the facts of climate change

Today marks The Climate Reality Project’s “24 Hours of Reality” movement. Over the course of 24 hours, they are broadcasting interviews, performances, studies, and conversations about how we can tackle the effects and causes of climate change on a global scale. You can watch the recording here.

We plant trees to mitigate the effects of climate change and contribute to a cooler and cleaner Baltimore City. Let us know what you think–how are you contributing to a protected planet that will serve generations to come?

Let’s talk about climate change

“We’ve set this chain in motion, but the truly cataclysmic changes can be prevented if we act now.”

As we wrap up our planting season for the 2018 year, we cannot ignore the research that so clearly emphasizes the importance and urgency of our work to grow Baltimore’s tree canopy. Simply put, the more carbon that we emit into the air, the greater need we have to filter it out. Trees are an excellent way to do this, and in that filtering process, they simultaneously cool and shade our city, too.

Check out this video from The Climate Reality Project, that features the one-and-only Bill Nye the Science Guy. Let’s keep the conversation about climate change going, because there are clear steps we can take to ensure a livable planet for all.
